Revival monday, 19th April 2010

soooooo, how ya been internet? miss me? :DDDD yes yes, ive been gone an awfully long time. well actually ive just been too lazy to post anything. so anyway, ive had this idea for a while now, and with ally pressuring me to update, ive decided to go ahead with my idea, which is kinda a compromise. which is if i have anything to say, then i will just blog as usual, but if not, then i'll just post the links to articles and youtube vids ive read/watched today, okay? mind you if i dont think its worth your time or just dont wanna share it (HAHAHA) of course i wont do it la.

http://www.youtube.com/user/CTFxC#p/u/0/j95A6oBV5PM CTFxC has become like what morning coffee is to some people, must have everyday. lol. watch it, and i guarantee it was make you smile at least once. kinda like watching Friends, after a while you know their habits, tendencies, friends, etc.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeUnFWpNLsk&feature=PlayList&p=0C2A285608BB35C1&playnext_from=PL&index=0&playnext=1 there are 2 other continuations of this vid, if you wanna see just click the autoplay button for the next one. the creator (i assume) is TranquilMammoth, also known as Hunter Burgan, bassist for the rock band AFI. kinda stupid, but provides momentary entertainment LOL.

oh, by the way, i consider the time from when i wake up to when i go to sleep the same day, so the posts will all be posted like after midnight, just so you know. lol.

anyway, went to visit lao 2 ko, dunno who that is but only found out we were gonna visit her when we were already there lol. it was in a corner lot teres house, an indonesian maid opened the door, and we went inside, i assumed it was the house of some distant relative. went inside and saw some single beds,, and old people sitting in chairs, some watching tv @@. and when say old, i mean 80 years old ++, snow white hair, wasted bodies, horrific sight to behold. it looked like corpses watching tv, seriously. there was a woman sitting near lao 2 ko, and she was the youngest one, still with black hair, but she had down's syndrome or something, with a deformed face and eyes looking into different directions like a chameleon. it was so morbid and humbling and scary! these old people left here to be cared by 2 indons. lao 2 ko said they take great care of them though :) she also said there were sick people upstairs, but we didnt go up to see them of course. so dad and mom and granma chatted with her, and we brought her bird's nest soup in a flask to drink. and i just sat at the foot of the stairs listening to them. thankfully she's just here tomporarily, gonna go stay with one of her sons soon. she says one of the old people's son only visits to get money from her. and after we left, dad said there was an old guy missing since the last time he visited, and assumed he died @@. it was SUCH a humbling experience because all these old people are at the end of their lives, barely able to stand, with minds already half sunken into the abyss, completely dependent on the maids to do everything like feeding, bathing etc for them. nothing to do, just waiting for death to come knocking on their door. and when he does, the maids will probably open the door just as cheerfully as they did for us. i kid i kid. or they could be passing their last days peacefully, without being bothered anymore by the petty worries of their youth, like us now in ours, depending on how you look at it. and it just made me feel 2 things, one, if this is the peaceful death in old age after a full life everybody dreams about, i dont think i want it. cause better quit while your on top, as they say. better to go out at your best, than to see yourself wither away and melt into a shameful puddle of your former self, utterly helpless and incapable of anything. and it just made me feel like giving up, like not doing anything anymore, whats the point i thought, if this is supposedly the best ending we could hope for? two, i thought im in my youth (not exactly prime yet but getting there) and im already doing what old people do, NOTHING?! get your ass off the couch and do something, i told myself. though this feeling only came about after we left and i wasnt surrounded with the auro of doom and hopelessness. :S then we had lunch, went sungei wang, passed through lot10 en route to pavillion, saw nice unaffordable stuff blahblahblah. the end.

oh and comment in the chatbox just so i know whose been here :)

Hon Yu in Wonderland

Ive been sick since Saturday! Bloody fever lah! But thanks to the drugs prescribe to me by Dr. Piong at Mediviron Clinic, im feeling much better. YAYYYYY! This is the first time ive been sick all year. The last time was in July 2008. You know, whenever i get sick, besides the usual symptoms of discomfort blah blah blah, i always get insomnia. Im not the type who has sleeping problems, so its a sure sign of illness. I tell you, i went to bed at 11 on Saturday night( the earliest ive slept in ages), and im already up by 1. The next 6 bloody torturous hours was spent tossing and turning, having short half hour naps in between the semi conscious dreaming, staring at the clock wishing this abyssal span of time would just pass, and just lying limp in bed emanating the darkest blackest aura around myself.

But enough about that, for the whole point of this post isnt to whine or complain(maybe just a little), its about the dreams ive been having for the past few days. From now on, im gonna blog about some of my more remarkable dreams. I've read somewhere that our dreams are actually manifestations of our thoughts or experiences past, moulded using a different medium to represent the original experience. Kinda like poetry lah. Usually my dreams never make sense to me, both in what experience it was conveying, and also in the irrationality of my reasoning during the dreams. Like, during the dream everything makes sense, but when i wake up i just think im crazy. They never have a romantic theme, and im usually alone. The closes comparison i can make would be Alice in Wonderland, hence the title. Here's some of my recent dreams that i can actually remember:

1. I dreamt that i was looking into an aquarium, filled with kinda ugly but otherwise ordinary fish. But among those fish were pufferfish in pairs. One would be above the other and they were connected to each other by an umbilical cord sprouting from ones' head to the others chin area. I think the dream was refering to the documentary i watched about the tree man. He had a weak immune system and therefore was unable to fight off the wart infection that has taken over his body to form wood-like growths on his hands and feet, apart from the multitude of warts that cover the poor Indon. His wife even left him because of it. And he smells bad all the time because of bacterial colonisation. Or the dream could simply be an acknowledgement that i took the ''how well do you know Spongebob Squarepants quiz'' on facebook. As in Mrs. Puff? hahahahahaha

2. I also dreamt that i was begging money on some roadside, and after ive collected alot of coins, some Bangladeshi laborer stole them! I gave chase until we were in some ugly garden, where a friend of his helped him chase me around. To stop them beating me up, i bribed them with pages from a novel that suddenly popped into my hand. hahaha i later reclaimed them, citing that i havent finished reading the novel yet and therefore needed the pages back ahahaha. Stupid dream. no comment.

3. Had a wet dream today while napping in the afternoon. And yes it was induced by what i was dreaming about! hahaha As always, i woke up immediately. Not gonna elaborate. X)

4. During the first night i was sick, i dreamt that i was a refugee in some desolate, war torn wasteland somewhere in Eastern Europe or Russia. There was rubble all around, it was cold, and i was surrounded with the dying, injured, and the homeless. Me included. Our spirits were all broken and i was trying to get some sleep on the uncomfortable floor. Which corresponds exactly to how i felt in bed that night. hahaha The dream was so graphic.

So far, thats all i remember, most of them i just forget. We supposedly forget 95% of our dreams within 5 minutes of waking up. So it cant be helped.

Movie reviews of the week

Watched like 4 movies this week, so i decided to blog about them just for the sake of blogging and also for your entertainment. First up:

Meet Bill

Bill (Eckhart) is this thirty something married man who's life has hit a dead end. He's fat, has ugly hair (as he claims ), has a shitty job working for his father in law and his wife is cheating on him. His father in law then signs him up for this alumni mentoring program, and he gets assigned some teenager who helps him to get his life back and learn to live again. And by the end of the movie, he lost all his belly fat. Now that is dedication! To gain it all for the film and lose it all again. The movie is fun, light, and pretty much an all rounded film. ***

Into the Wild

Stars Emile Hirsch (speed racer), Kirsten Stewart (i want to suck your bloody but i love you!) and Vince Vaughn (HATE HIM!). Probably the only good movie Vince Vaughn ever starred in. Directed by Sean Penn who is a multi talented actor and director. A true story revolving around the life of Christopher McCandless who runs away from home, donates all his savings and destroys all his identification document. He hitchhikes across America towards his ultimate goal to live alone in the wilds of Alaska, and along the way encounters an array of characters and lifestyles so very different from his own. After he reaches Alaska, he lives inside a Magic Bus used by moose hunters as a shelter, and eats what game he can catch and the indigenous plants. He rejects materialism and says that all he need in life is nature, books and a quiet life of solitude or something liddat. Even though he brought a book along to identify edible plants, he mistakes a poisonous plant with an edible one, which shuts down his digestive system, and after over 100 days of crawling around weak and helpless, he finally dies, only to be found 2 weeks later by moose hunters. Deeply haunting, and hauntingly deep, this movie is a must watch. Though some parts were kinda boring, it really gets you thinking and will definitely impact the way you view life. ****/ (four and a half star rating)

Kung Fu Dunk Waste of time i tell you! From the title, you'd expect lots of kung fu being integrated into the basketball, leading to a victorious win in the end, right? But nooooo, the kung fu was almost nonexistent (only a lil bit in the front), the plot was lame, pointless, unengaging and just plain bad. And what was with that using kung fu to reverse time shit? Siao wan! And Jay Chou's character was pretending to been cute and innocent and ignorant throughout the movie, maybe to mask his inability to act perhaps? Dont watch it, scratching your ass or staring at yourself in a mirror would be more productive than wasting your life with this movie. * (one star rating)

Gone Baby Gone

Directed by Ben Affleck and starring lil bro Casey Affleck, this is another must watch. Based on a novel of the same name, the film is about private investigator Patrick Kenzie (Casey) and girlfriend Angie (Michelle) who are hired by the aunt of an abducted child to find her. As they investigate they uncover shit that eventually leads to the supposed death of the missing child. But 2 months later, the real truth was revealed to him and he realises that he got it all wrong. Bottom line, he has to choose whether to do the right thing, or the other, which is actually better for the child. He chooses the first choice, and his girlfriend leaves him because of it, the child returns to the mom that didn't give a damn about her and still doesn't, and 2 well meaning men who love children and committed the crime for the benefit of the child goes to jail and another one dies......So unfair. But totally awesome movie! caution: producers are not held responsible for any damaged done to sensitive ears and innocent minds caused either directly or indirectly by the film. In other words, got freaking lot of swearing. But thats okay ; ) *****

Hitting a nerve

The VIP gang, as Pn Suhaila calls them, is really ticking me off. Not that they havent been doing so since last year. These Very Idiotic/Inconsiderate People (hence VIP) are just so obnoxious lah!! I don't hate them individually (except Mr Retard-Who-Smells-Like-A-Homeless-Person*), it's just that when they join together in class, they frankly SUCK! They talk shit out loud without any decency, corrupting and filling our innocent ears with their ridiculous exploits they do at home. They act like they're royalty and the rest of us are lowly peasants! They act like the rest of us dont exist, and disturb the rest of us like siao with their childish games! Or at least me. And when the 5A branch of the VIP gang comes over, all the screams of the burning souls of Hell cannot compare. Noisy shit la! And you know how Miss Yeow is always complaining about the other teachers complaining about us? Theyre really complaining about you BITCHES! But of course, we all take the blame. -.-'''

Point is: Stop congregating around my seat like wildebeest at a watering hole, its damn annoying la! Stop taking my fucking chair and be all whatever, be humble la Fucker! Stop butting into our cho-tai-tee games la, you're not invited! Stop planting youre butt on my table while im there, dont know the meaning of respect isit? Bunch of douchebags!!! Stop making so much noise and being all high and mighty la! Stop taking other peoples food, while not giving any yourself you parasites! Bunch of blood sucking leeches! (i admit i take some food too, but i share my choki choki too kay?! MUTUALISM) Stop disrespecting everybody else laaaaaa!!!! SHEESH!

Okay, i might have exaggerated a wee bit. But its totally how Mr Retard-Who-Smells-Like-A-Homeless-Person* acts in class. The truth is, im on good terms with most of them. And have known some of them for years and years. Im just blowing off some steam you know.

In other news, Miss Yeow finally did something different for a change during our English lesson the other day. Instead of using it for yelling at us in her quiet, murderous, im-over-fifty-and-still-not-married way, or using it for her class teacher duties, she made us watch a DVD! We should totally integrate watching educational DVDs into all our subjects! So much more bearable and merciful than listening to one of those old cows rambling. Anyway, it was about that famous book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Watched liao la! -.-''' But whatever. Its all about The Law of Attraction, and in the DVD, it claims that lots of famous people like Einstein or Newton got successful because they knew ''the secret''. What utter rubbish!!!! Half of it was based on the power of positive thinking, and that without a doubt is true, but the other half was about how your thoughts send out a frequency that the universe responds to?!?!?!? Crazy people making crazy claims without any scientific evidence whatsoever meant for stupid desperate people who would believe anything. Its a nice fantasy, but so are superpowers......When something they want to happen happens, they think that its proof of the Law of Attraction, but when it doesnt they dont think much about it at all........and come on, it either goes the way you want it or not, so half the time you're gonna get it right?......blehhhhhhhh...nothing much to say. Till next time blog stalkers. Arrivederci!

NS suckers!!!!

buahahahahahhaha im not going to NSSSSSSSS!!!!! Phew! Dodged a bullet there! I wont have to sleep in a room filled with like 50 other guys! No curfew! No waking up at 5 or 6 everyday! No uniforms! No MARCHING!!! And yes technology! And yes, im just saying all this to screw with all you ''unfortunate'' souls who, by the cruel hand dealt to you by fate, got chosen. Im totally relieved, and yet im not exactly prancing about in imaginary meadows either. I dont want to go, but i wouldn't really mind going either. Today, it was revealed to us the path we would take after SPM, on one path, it was to NS, on the other, whatever we want to make of it. Some of us will already be off to college in some faraway land by then, others maybe just beginning to figure out what they really wanna be. And some, perhaps still lazing at home or working in OU. Oh well, that it life.

I just heard this awesome song from dunno where. I forgot. But its by this indie rock band called Rilo Kiley. They're so unknown you can't even find the music video on youtube. Just their live concerts. I finally found it on some other website. enjoy.
